The weather has been rather nice this January hanging out in the 50s most days, one unexpected snow, and lots of rain. We finally got the trampoline finished today so that the girls can start enjoying their Christmas present. PepperJack is officially a grandpa now who eats, sleeps, and potties and will let you know when it is time for each. Oliver is a mess who is constantly smelly because he got into mischief. Pluto meows constantly at me to fill his water and food bowls, even when they are not empty, but doesn't do it to anyone else in the house. Button still does her own thing and sleeps with us at night. The girls are eating us out of house & home which worries me because that means they are growing again! John is getting ready to start his new job soon. Our hospital is much busier as of late with the addition of a new doctor. I am training a new therapist and have a student twice a week which keeps me on my toes. We are looking forward to an adult getaway the second weekend of February to New Orleans to see Billy Joel, watch the Hogs, and eat lots of yummy food!
Salie is quickly approaching 5 years of age. She recently got a new hair cut and looks so grown up. She is learning to read and it is really starting to click. You can tell she enjoys it. She is very loving and motherly toward her sister and takes great care of Elliott. They truly seem to be best friends. She loves watching Wonder Woman (The Justice League). She wants to learn to tie her shoes and is swimming great now. She really likes her friend, Evan, at school and wants to wear jeans, boots, and a belt so she can be a cowgirl like her cowboy friend. She talks non-stop and asks lots of questions. Her imagination when it comes to building is incredible! She is very girly, loves to wear her hair down, needs to dress herself at all times, and prefers a dress. She has her own style which may still include 7-8 bows at a time but wears them with confidence. Her quote of the month would have to be "I just can't stop!" in regards to why she eats her boogers.
Elliott still marches to the beat of her own drum at 3 years of age. She is very much a Mommy's girl but has learned that she thinks like her Daddy and uses it to her advantage. She looks up to Salie so much and tries to "sound out words" too when Salie is reading. They play together very well. She loves her polka dot baby and her puppies. She has now adopted Salie's imaginary friend, Doh-Doh, as her own and blames things on him quite often. "Well Doh-Doh hits but we don't" and Salie now has an imaginary friend, Sally, who plays with Doh-Doh. Elliott is a princess through and through. She doesn't want to wear it if it doesn't spin. I hear "Princesses don't wear pants....boots....socks....jackets" from both of my little Princesses a lot. She and her Daddy have a bargain that if she stays in her bed all night, she can pick out her own nightgowns for bedtime but if she ends up in our bed, which happens often, she has to let Daddy pick out her pajamas. It has remedied the problem for the most part. She is a bit accident prone, knocking her head on things a lot lately. Her quote of the month would have to be "That lady looks like a witch" which she said very loudly to a poor lady in Wal-Mart one day and then we had to have a discussion about being polite after our faces turned back to their normal tones.
We had a rough time starting back to our normal routine this month.
Elliott likes to stop and smell the fake roses.
This is one of Salie's new hairstyle preferences.
