Adventure Update

Our first foster, sweet baby girl spent three months in our home. She was the happiest, smiliest thing you ever saw. She grew tremendously, from 0-3 month clothes to 9 month clothes and made it from the 18th percentile to the 33rd percentile in weight on the growth chart. She was meeting all her developmental milestones and her symptoms from the reflux & laryngomalcia were calming and disappearing slowly. She had two teeth come in, started crawling everywhere, was pulling up to a standing position, could say "DaDa" & "Bye Bye", started eating baby foods, and an absolute joy. She was unexpectedly moved to a different foster home with her sibling but not before I could get a picture of her in her Halloween costume, the cutest scarecrow ever!  I pray daily for her future and the future of her family members that love her and yearn for a reunion.

This foster care journey has proven to be mentally exhausting for me trying to juggle being a mother to three kids, scheduling everyone's appointments, keeping up with the state's paperwork & rules and regulations, praying for the child and her biological family, and losing sleep with an infant while working full time. We have decided to take a brief pause in foster care, offering support to our friends who do foster care but not taking a child in our home for a little while. Thank you to all of our friends and family who have supported us during this journey, opened their hearts to a child that wasn't family, and allowed me to vent when I was falling apart. We love you all!
