Merry Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with my family at my Uncle Bill's house in Harrisburg in honor of Granny's tradition. We enjoyed good family time and food. Tears were shed when gifts were opened. Though she was not there, she took care of us before she left.

In the 6 days she spent at home after leaving St. Elizabeth's, she had time to shop! This is Salie Belle's Christmas gift from her Great-Granny.

The book above was bought years ago by my mom, who gave it to my Granny to complete. It's a book of family history filled out from a grandmother to granddaughter. We had heard Granny mention several times that she had to get to work on that book, but we had all forgotten about it. After her passing, my mom was searching for something amid all of Granny's beloved possessions (and there are a lot of them for those of you that don't know her well) and there this book sat. What a precious treasure! We had lots of laughs as we read through her writings.

She also bought all of us Christmas cards and signed them herself. Though we miss her very much, she never falls short! It is up to us to keep the Christmas Eve tradition going and shop, shop, shop!
