"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Phillipians 4:7
On Thursday morning, my Granny, Rosalee Elliott, had a massive stroke. There is nothing the doctors can do and she is in hospice care until she passes from this world. Though these past few days have been very difficult, they have reminded me of several wonderful things. My Granny was a strong-willed, stubborn busy-body but she was a devout woman of faith who loved her family. She believed every time the doors to the church building were opened, we should all be there. She loved her family, and anyone that knew her, knew everything about us.
As we sit in her hospital room with all of my extended family as she stubbornly hangs in there, it reminds me that this is what she wants. All of us together in one room on the holidays. She recently had the great news that she would be a Great-Granny, not once, but twice in the coming year. My cousin, Justin (who I am 2 months older than), and his wife Breann, are expecting 2 months after us in May 2012. Though she has been battling ailments, she has expressed this to any and everyone that will listen. So while we pray to God for comfort and wait for the time to come, it only seems fitting to post on here because her last days were spent planning for this little girl's arrival, that this post was created for in the first place.
