I thought a picture of Salie & Elliott sporting their Riceland T-shirts was fitting for this post since Riceland tends to be getting better & better for Daddy. John was chosen to promote to Safety Coordinator a few weeks ago but has not officially started this position completely waiting to train his current replacement. When John accepted the position as QA Coordinator in 2014, the understanding was that he would promote up the QA Ladder. The timeframe was not disclosed and has been a tad bit secretive. Though John was not thrilled to leave QA, he decided he could not wait forever to move up the QA ladder and chose to accept the Safety Coordinator position. It took four weeks from interview to offer and we were told this was because QA was doing everything possible to create a position to allow John to stay in their department and promote. The answer was no.
Fast forward a few weeks as John is working back and forth between the two departments, halfway in his new job and halfway in his old, and he is unexpectedly approached by the VP of Quality and Innovation. John is informed that minds had been changed and he was now being offered the Quality Manager of Riceland Jonesboro position if still interested. His boss was being promoted to Director of QA, allowing John to climb the QA ladder. Very shocked, John has proudly accepted his new role and will be transitioning into this position over the next few weeks.
We are so proud of John and are learning to be patient in God's timing, though it is more difficult for some of us than others. We are very blessed to be facing positive changes this year and look forward to all the new things this role will bring to our family. Most of all, we are proud of Daddy. He chose to leave a career 8 years ago, work 40+ hours while getting a Bachelor's degree, graduate and patiently wait for an opportunity to better himself, and supported his family in every way throughout being the best husband and father around. We love you John McKnight!!
