Elliott's First Easter

For the first time that I can remember (possibly the first time), we did not make it to church on Easter Sunday morning. John went to teach class but I stayed home with a sick little girl. Salie woke up Friday morning complaining of her tummy hurting, started running fever that afternoon and has been pretty miserable ever since. She has started to regain a little energy today but is still running fever round the clock and complaining of a tummy ache. We couldn't not wear our new Easter dresses or skip Easter baskets, so we waited till Salie's fever had broken and her spirits were up and had a little photo shoot! The first two are from last weekend showing off Salie's long ponytail.

Elliott enjoyed her first Easter and has been a pretty happy baby all weekend. We remembered Jesus' death and resurrection and talked about it with Salie. I still very vividly remember Easter Sunday being the day my Pop decided to be baptized. We always went to church at Walcott on Easter Sunday with the whole family. Pop didn't attend church for years, and then for years he just attended. That Sunday when we stood for the invitation, there wasn't a dry eye in our pew as we watched him walk to the front. Such an impression was made on me that day and I can only imagine the impression that empty tomb made years ago.
