We traveled to Denver in May to wish John's little brother, Jake, a happy graduation from high school and of course, show off Salie! We arrived on a Tuesday and immediately went to a Rockies game that night. Salie was an excellent flier. She only got upset on the way home when her ears woke her up hurting.
She was quite the entertainer at the game...clapping when the crowd clapped, dancing when the music played, eating everything everyone had to offer, and meeting Dinger!! We have a stuffed Dinger (the Rockies mascot) at home that she loves and she was thrilled to meet the real one until she got close and clinged to Daddy & Grandpa John. Dinger even signed her little stuffed Dinger.
We spent Wednesday attending graduation and enjoying the after party. Jake graduated in the top 10 of his class of around 400 students! Salie spent the day eating cookies and cheese. On Thursday, we took Salie to the zoo. She loved all the people, noises, and animals.
Most of the rest of our time was spent running from here to there visiting with family. We stayed with Uncle Jeff & Aunt Michelle at their house in Parker and played with their dog, Bella. We spend time with Great Grandma McKnight, Great Grandpa & Grandma Erickson, and even went to the horse stables to see Great Uncle Jim & Aunt Karen, Clare, and Amanda. Salie loved the horses and watching Amanda ride. She also loved the push-pop Clare shared with her! It was so great to catch up with family and to watch Salie interact with each of them.
We also were able to attend John's best friend, Andy's 30th birthday party and spend time with his family. He has 2 boys that are five and two and Salie loved their toys...a sword and a dump truck that she could ride!
John & I always say when we are planning a trip to Denver that we are not going to run ourselves to death but we always do & enjoy every minute! Salie would go as long as she could and then collapse in one of our arms to nap. Mommy enjoyed the extra snuggling time! We loved every minute of our trip and each & everyone of the people that we spent time with while we were there! Hope to see you all again soon!
